The Museum of the Future is an exhibition space for innovative and futuristic ideologies, services, and products which opened in the financial district of Dubai on February 22, 2022. The iconic building structure can be seen on the plane; the exterior façade of the building comprises windows that form an Arabic poem by Dubai's ruler about the emirate’s future.
The seventh ICC Cricket Men's T20 World Cup tournament takes place in the UAE & Oman in late 2021. Emirates was a sponsor of the event. Both sides were slightly different.
The 2020 World's Fair was finally held between October 2021 and March 2022. The Burj Khalifa stuntwoman who appeared in a recent Emirates ad carries an invitation to visit the event on both sides of the aircraft, holding a message board that says: "See you there" and "Dubai Expo Oct-Mar 2022".
In late 2022 all four aircraft had their titles modified as the Expo was over and the scheme was kept to promote tourism to Dubai. The Expo dates were replaced by "See you there" titles and the Emirates motto "Fly Better" while the billboard on the starboard side was changed to "Destination Dubai" (no change on the port side billboard).
In August 2021 Emirates unveiled the first of a series of aircraft sporting a special scheme to celebrate the UAE's 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee). Indeed, on 2 December 1971, six of the emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain) agreed to enter into a union called the United Arab Emirates. The golden livery shows Arabic titles on the port side and English titles on the starboard side, in a similar fashion to Singapore Airline's 1997 Golden Jubilee livery.
The Dubai Sevens is an annual rugby sevens (played by teams of 7 players) held at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE since 1970. Emirates is a sponsor of the event. Note both sides were different with a man portrayed on the port side and a woman on the starboard side.
Emirates became a sponsor of the cricket World Cup in 1999. Cricket is mostly played in Commonwealth countries, which are the mainstay of the markets served by EK. Twenty years later a third scheme finally took to the skies. The 2019 ICC World Cup was held between May 30 and July 14, 2019 in England and Wales.
The 2020 World's Fair was held in Dubai between October 20, 2020 and April 10, 2021. EK was a sponsor of the event; the theme of the Expo was "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", 3 sub-themes being Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity, which prompted the airline to release three variants of the livery. A total of 42 planes received the decals, 7 in each of the three colours for both the A380 & B77W types. The logo of the Expo was inspired by an ancient gold ring excavated in Dubai.
